This guest-facing volunteer opportunity is great fit for anyone who enjoys working in the kitchen or learning about food service. Volunteers play an important role in ensuring that guests receive meals in an environment that reflects dignity, care, and respect.
Responsibilities include plating food, refilling the serving line, handing plates to guests, distributing utensils, cleaning dishes, and resetting the kitchen after service concludes.
Dress Code: Please wear long pants (preferably jeans), a T-shirt, and closed-toed shoes. Leggings are not allowed. Please be prepared to tie your hair back and wear a hairnet while you serve.
First-Time Volunteers: Upon arrival, please check in at the Volunteer Check-In station. Wait for your name tag to print (may take 10-15 seconds) and put any bags or purses into a locker. Hairnets are located on the right as you enter. Please wear a hairnet, wash your hands (located to the left), and wear gloves. Charles and Shawn will provide you with instructions from there.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain standing for a minimum of one hour
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Physical ability to climb two flights of stairs
- Able to bend, stoop, or kneel as needed.
