  1. How do I become a volunteer? 
    • We would love for you to start serving at OurCalling or OurCommunity. The first step is to go to ourcalling.galaxydigital.com to create a volunteer account and sign up for an orientation. Once you have completed the orientation, you may begin volunteering!
  2. What is the age requirement to serve as a volunteer? 
    • The minimum age to volunteer with OurCalling is 13 years old. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to serve in the kitchen. For opportunities that involve engaging with guests, volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Specific age requirements for each opportunity are listed on the corresponding sign-up pages.
  3. What is your area of greatest need for volunteers? 
    • To provide our guests with dignified care, we require approximately 35 volunteers each day. Our kitchen and guest services areas require the majority of those volunteers. 
  4. Can I complete court-mandated community service at OurCalling?
    • We do allow individuals to complete community service at OurCalling. The first step is to go to ourcalling.galaxydigital.com to create a volunteer account and sign up for an orientation. Once you have completed orientation, you can sign up under “Community Service” to serve your hours. 
  5. Is orientation required more than once? 
    • Volunteers only need to attend the volunteer orientation once. However, if you attended orientation before 2024 and haven't served since, we ask that you attend a refresher orientation before returning to service.
  6. Where do I go when I come in to volunteer? 
    • Please use the South Lot for parking and enter through the double doors. After checking in at the Volunteer Check-In Station, located on the right side of the entrance hall, you can always ask our receptionist in the office for directions to your serving area.
  7. Do you allow volunteers on Street Outreach?
    • Yes, OurCalling allows vetted volunteers to serve with our Street Outreach Team. The process includes submitting an application for consideration, shadowing the team, and receiving approval.

    • Please note that not all volunteers will be approved to serve with our Street Outreach Team. Due to the nature of their work and the environment they operate in, only volunteers who respect the rules, sign the volunteer agreement, and align with the team will be accepted to continue volunteering in this manner.
  8. How do I stay in the know with what is happening at OurCalling?
    • The majority of communication goes out via email. To ensure you stay in the loop, check that your email address is correct under "Edit Profile."
